i'm rambling, my brain is scrambled
general views?
as a self proclaimed clown of doom, i try pursue comedy in life. i'm pretty much waging war on tragedy here.
what is tragedy? what’s happening now is tragedy. the lack of sincerity in the world, the disregard for emotions - the very thing that makes us human. our nature is now seen as something outlandish, because it cannot be sold. we’re weirded out by body hair, how ridiculous is that?
there are idiots on the internet making fun of kids for daring to have interests, only for teachers to wonder why their students hide in the back of the classroom. politics are now dumbed down to “owning leftards” or whatever the shit. we’re in pre-war times, and all these old fucks care about is whether you have pronouns (you do, by the way. "you" is a pronoun.)
and don’t even get me started on social media. what started as a tool for us to connect is now a battleground where talking to others became some turn-based strategy game.
anyway, what i’m trying to say is the world we live in is a literal nightmare and monsters really hate when you laugh at them.
thoughts on cringe
call me a conspiracy theorist (because i am one) but cringe is basically just a brainwashing tactic. it’s used to:
- keep us miserable
- keep us uncreative
- keep us from connecting
the principle is actually really simple - while i see people arguing whether the dystopia we live in is orwellian or huxleyan, i think it’s both at once. orwellian is step one, rid us from any pleasure we can create ourselves, so that whoever’s at top can keep giving us the “pleasure” they want us to receive, keeping the society addicted so it stays distracted. more than that, it’s kafkaesque and philidickian, too, but i don’t think that’s relevant when we talk about cringe, so i’ll skip those two. maybe in another ramble?
in short, to be cringe is - quite literally - to be free, so go commit thoughtcrimes on anime boys.
